Day 2 - KAUST Tour Jan 13

What an incredible place! Words cannot begin to describe this University and it's beauty. This morning/afternoon Kyle and Bridgette gave us the grand tour (once we finally woke up) after an excellent breakfast of fried potatoes, eggs, and beef bacon (more like pastrami than pork bacon which is not a staple in SA).

The following is a brief narrative of our tour.

First off we toured the housing area surrounded by canals and bridges.

Next the recreation facilities with gym, men's pool, women and family pool, exercise areas, rock walls,

The on campus mosque was next (Note: morning prayer call starts around 5:45 am, then at noon, 3, and 5:30).

We checked out the on campus market full of fresh vegetables and Nachos!

The library building and views were quite impressive and elaborate.

In front of the libary are sea steps (i.e. steps to the sea) and the Beacon and Yacht Club.

The best part of tour was Kyle's research lab.

Lastly out tour ended up around the habor apartments, faculty mansions, the Yacht Club, and Beacon on the Red Sea.

Tomorrow, relax, barbeque, games, and picture management. Sunday to Jeddah. Stay tuned.
